This listing is for an EcoSoft unit to deal with low pH issues. This is supplied complete with Juraperle or Semidol media. These are built by Ecosoft using the industry leading Clack timed control valves.
If your pH is above 5.5 Juraperle is reccomended to correct the pH.
If your pH is below 5.5 Semidol is reccomended to treat very low pH water.
Juraperle is a sacrificial granular media for correcting the pH level in low pH water. Primarily made up of calcium carbonate, Juraperle dissolves into the water supply, naturally lifting the pH level in the water. Due to it being slow reacting, Juraperle is highly reliable in achieving the pH level you need and not “over-correcting.” It is particularly suited to correcting “slightly acidic” pH water.
Semidol is a media produced from naturally occurring dolomite, which is comprised of calcium magnesium carbonate oxide. Semidol is used to correct pH levels in drinking water. Semidol is a fast reacting pH corrector, making it particularly effective when used to treat very low pH levels in water. It also reacts neutrally, which means it does not interfere with other medias and causes no problems during the switch over process.
Both Juraperle & Semidol can also aid in the removal of iron and manganese due to the oxidation process. This iron and manganese needs to be removed from the media, which can be done via a backwash process performed every day. By removing the iron and manganese from the media, Juraperle & Semidol remains capable of dissolving into the water.
In a very small amount of cases it is possible that pH adjustment may increase the hardness of water, requiring a water softener to treat the water, however this should only be an issue with water that already has fairly high hardness levels. Contact us if unsure.

Where should I install?
The simplest place to install this type of equipment is in an external pumphouse.
What are the running costs of a pH adjusting unit?
Aside from a negligible use of electricity the Juraperle media is consumed over time and it does depend on pH level but perhaps every 2-3 years requires refilling. This is easily carried out by the homeowner and we provide full information on this.
Does this equipment need servicing?
This is a long term investment and can last 15 years or more. Like any other mechanical item your unit will need annual servicing to ensure a long operating lifetime. Servicing is easily carried out by the homeowner and we provide full information on this.
